Pre-Event
Roughly a day or two before the start of competition, the team arrives for the rally. Crew is responsible for getting the car through technical inspection and prepping equipment for the race.
Race Day
On each competition day, the crew are tasked with loading into the service area, sending the drivers off at the ceremonial start and providing their strict focus to the car during short service intervals spread across the stage schedule.
Post-Event
Following the conclusion of the race, the team packs up and heads home. We may follow up with the team after an event to gather feedback, collect testimonials and share upcoming opportunities for rally involvement.
A Rally Timeline
Every rally has its own procedures, instructions and geography to navigate, but in general this is what you can expect from a multi-day stage rally event.
Day 1
Arrival, Tech and Reconnaissance
In the days before the rally, the team arrives at the rally HQ to check-in. Crew unloads the race car and takes it through technical inspection while the drivers navigate the stage roads to write their notes.
Day 2
Competition Day 1, Service load-in
In the morning, the crew loads equipment into the service park and sends the drivers out at the ceremonial start. During competition, the car comes in for short service intervals, where the crew are responsible for inspecting the race vehicle, responding to damage and performing regular checks on key systems within the allotted time frame.
Day 3
Competition Day 2, Awards
The same basic structure of day 2 repeats. Following the finish, a final service is performed on the car before the team packs up and everyone attends the awards ceremony to celebrate the conclusion of the rally.

Frequently Asked Questions
While general automotive knowledge is helpful, prior experience with motorsports is not required to participate. Professionalism is a mindset, and we’ll teach you the skills you need to compete alongside the pros.
The ARA requires all crew to purchase a per-event or annual crewing license. To help reduce the cost to you, we will compensate you with a small wage for the hours of service worked. During the event, lodging and meals are provided, and you are only responsible for your own transportation to the rally if carpooling is infeasible.
Rally schedules can involve long days and late nights. While you may only be working on the car between 15 minutes and an hour at a time, there will be significant downtime between service intervals. Events will run late into the night and require getting up early between days of competition.
If the weather poses a risk to safety, a stage or leg may be scrubbed to allow the storms to clear. We will follow rally safety bulletins in the event of severe weather. If organizers determine that weather poses no risk to the safety of the event, we’ll be out there working on the car, even in pouring rain or blowing snow. Come prepared with the proper gear!
